Black NASCAR Driver Loses Lead After Being Pulled Over During Race

Black NASCAR driver, Troy Smith, lost his sizable lead during Sunday night at the Atlanta Motor Speedway after being pulled over just twenty minutes into the race.

Hampton Police Sergeant Cody Blanco responded to a 911 call from an attendee who reported a suspicious person driving recklessly in a stolen vehicle belonging to 7-Eleven. The caller alleged Smith posed an immediate threat to the safety of white race car drivers and the viability of 7-Eleven sponsorship.

Sgt. Blanco arrested Smith, who had dozens of priors including, an impressive race record and several first-place finishes, on charges of speed and improper seat belt configuration. Smith resisted arrest by politely questioning officers and was immediately cuffed in conjunction with an incredible photo finish from other racers, reaching top speeds of 185 mph.

The predominantly caucasian crowd roared with delight at the timely arrest of Smith, allowing Sgt. Blanco and two arresting officers to proudly stand atop the placing podium and acknowledge their adoring fans.

“This anonymous tip from the NASCAR stands helped officers bring a criminal to justice today, and we couldn’t have done it without you, the fans,” Sgt. Blanco said. “Remember, if you see something African-American do something — anything, say something.”
