Chicago Bears Retire Justin Fields’ Number

With the season over and it obvious Caleb Williams is coming to ChiTown, the Bears did the only thing they could, releasing a statement from GM Ryan Poles calling Fields, “far and away the best quarterback in franchise history,” and that the team would finally be retiring quarterback and undisputed hometown favorite Justin Fields’ jersey number.

“From the couple of days he spent giving back to the community, to that time he posed for a picture in front of Lou Malnati’s, the name ‘Justin Fields’ has become synonymous with ‘Chicago’s best,’” Said Pace, who noted that Fields won over the front office on the first day by offering to personally drive Mitch Trubisky to the airport.

Fields’ on-the field record in college is also pretty impressive. Many Bears fans claim the countless hours they’ve spent on YouTube watching Fields’ OSU highlights represent the greatest football-viewing experiences of their lives.

Wild rumors have begun circulating among residents that Fields had personally stopped all fighting between Cubs and White Sox fans, as well as restored Brian Urlacher’s hair with a single touch upon his shiny bald head. One seemingly miraculous thing that can be confirmed is that, thanks to his influential vegan lifestyle, the Illinois Department of Public Health has confirmed that Fields has single-handedly raised Chicagoans average life expectancy to a record high of 49 years.

Whatever the truth may be, all Bears fans seem to agree that Fields’ number 1, which Mike Ditka declared him the reincarnation of Walter Payton, deserves to hang forever at Soldier Field. Those who still can’t get enough of the dual-threat QB can look forward to seeing their hero on the big screen, as the city of Chicago has decided to use taxpayer dollars to fund a remake of ‘Brian’s Song’ starring Fields as both leads.

After such a touching retirement ceremony Fields’ keycard access was revoked from the Bears facility effective immediately. As Chicago prepares for Caleb Williams to be selected first overall in April’s Draft. Sources close to the Bears are calling Williams “the next Justin Fields!!!!!!”
