Man Binges Last 58 Super Bowls To Catch Up To Current Season

Attempting to get caught up on all the previous seasons to avoid spoilers before this year’s Super Bowl, local man Ed Taylor is binge-watching the last 58 Super Bowls. 

Taylor, who considers the NFL to be his favorite program on television, has reluctantly fallen behind in recent years. “I missed the last few seasons. I got too busy with work and the kids. I feel like an outsider during water cooler talk about the plot twists,” he said.

The fandom for Taylor started at an early age by watching the great 49ers of the 1980s. “When I was a kid, seeing characters on the screen like Montana, Rice, and, of course, Bill Walsh, just captured my imagination. I fell in love. For my money, there has never been a show better than the NFL during seasons 23-29,” said Taylor. 

While the West Coast Offense that peaked his interest early, Taylor’s taste matured as he grew older. “I’ve been really interested with the story arc in New England involving this Belichick character putting the kid Brady in to replace Drew Bledsoe and winning the championship. I did not see that coming. That was a great twist by showrunner Paul Tagliabue.” 

One advantage to binging the seasons for Taylor is not having to wait to find out what happens next. “Brady and Belichick are like the greatest storyline ever now. It’s insane. I can’t wait to see where this goes,” said Taylor, adding, “The NFL is the best show on television.”
