Opinion: Switch Pucks And Footballs For One Wild Weekend

Most sports fans can agree that football and hockey have become stale. Hitting a puck with a stick? Yawn. Throwing a football? Snooze city. However, there is a way to fix this. For one wild weekend this year, let’s find out who the real athletes are and switch pucks and footballs.

It should be obvious why this is a win for football. Imagine just how far that puck would go in the hands of a great quarterback. Plus, no defender would dare cheap-shot a quarterback if they could throw six ounces of vulcanized rubber directly through a linebacker’s facemask. See, now football players will actually look tough after they lose five teeth per game.

Now, for hockey, it’s hard to imagine the game done without a puck if you have zero imagination! Science shows us pig skins move fast in cold temperatures, so it’s not crazy to think footballs will move at hundreds of miles an hour. This will have to increase scoring by at least 10.

Most importantly, if there is one thing that sports fans are most worried about, it is the integrity of the game, and this will make both sports an even playing field. Tom Brady will not be able to deflate a puck, and footballs won’t take out every hockey player’s teeth. Fair? We think so.

The world is ready for a change here, so bring it on! Join us next wild weekend for when we switch basketballs with javalens.
