Win Now: Giants Go All-In With Trade Offer For Colts Stud QB Daniel Jones

The New York Giants might have finally found the missing piece to this season’s puzzle, and it’s not a new defensive end to balance out lineman Dexter Lawrence. Instead they’ve gone hunting for the perfect, indispensable franchise QB — and come up big with the acquisition of a young quarterback from the Colts named Daniel Jones.

According to GM Joe Schoen, this is the season, and Jones is the QB. “Certain teams just have that win-now mentality. The Rams. The Eagles. And now us. I look at a guy like Jones and think, ‘Whoa, where did this guy come from? And how can we get him on our side?” Added Schoen, “Turns out it wasn’t that hard.”

Schoen’s research team immediately yielded two discoveries: One, Jones comes from a long line of great Indianapolis QBs, including Johnny Unitas, Jim Harbaugh, and even the lesser-known brother of Giants legend Eli Manning. The Giants recognized they needed some of that Colts’ mojo to light up the Meadowlands. Two, they found that Jones has actually spent significant time in New York, living and working in the city for six years, right under the Giants’ noses. “So we don’t have to point him to the best bagel place or whatever,” said Schoen. “That speeds things up so we can get him on the field. Can you imagine this guy in a Brian Daboll offense? I mean, the scheme just fits so perfectly.”

Asked if the G-Men are scouring the league for another weapon to fortify their Super Bowl run, Schoen admitted they could use a boost at tailback and that he was already making inquiries about some kid on the Eagles named Barkley.
