ESPN Accused Of Sexism After Not Including Any Women In NFL Player Rankings

Missing the mark yet again, ESPN drew ire for failing to include a single women in their annual NFL player rankings. Many are calling the complete omission of women from ESPN’s latest report on professional football players “totally sexist” and “embarrassing”, while others agree that “it’s the 21st century, come on.”

“Honestly, it’s disgusting. Women are too often ignored in this country. They deserve better. They should at least ranked top 10,” said Jezebel contributor Lisa Halbright. Tweets calling for ESPN’s complete cancellation have speculated that ESPN stands for Especially Sexist Penis News, while others say that they stand for nothing.

Addressing accusations, ESPN released an apology statement saying that they will strive harder to represent women in their male athlete rankings, but for many it was too late. The controversy continued for ESPN with claims of ageism surfacing when it was revealed that no players over 46 made the list.
