Did Hockey Start? We Think It Started.
It’s mid-October, and that can only mean one thing: The hockey season has almost certainly started. While some say that it just wrapped up, we at SportsRiot know that hockey is probably happening right at this very moment or will be happening very soon.
In fact, Canadians are now more active on Twitter, the local arena parking lot is sometimes at capacity, and even the weather is getting a little bit colder. We even saw someone hanging out with the Stanley Cup on Instagram, and although that happens year-round, we believe that it means one thing: hockey probably started.
One thing for sure is that hockey starts around the same time as basketball, so we can expect to see some on the ice action starting in October or November-ish, but definitely by December. It’s also possible that Canada will make an announcement or something so that the Zambonis have time to migrate to their respective arenas.
We’ll be honest, we have no idea if hockey has started.
If anyone knows for sure, please let us know. Also, any information on if Mario Lemieux is still playing or if Coach Bombay’s Mighty Ducks are still favored to win it all is appreciated too. Come back for more hockey news as the season progresses and/or starts.
