New York Yankees Fashion Week Just Pinstripes Again

This coming Saturday marks the return of the annual New York Yankees fashion show, where Yankees player-models and minor league affiliates will strut the runway in the latest Yankees attire.

Although seven seasons have passed since the franchise shocked the world with their innovative medium sized-jersey buttons, fashion fans were hopeful the team was preparing to debut an innovative new look. Those hopes were dashed earlier today when leaked photos revealed that the Yankees fall line will once again feature blue pinstripes on a white top paired with blue pinstripes on white pants.

“I was really hoping they would go with something a little more experimental, maybe horizontal stripes, a zipper, anything really,” said lifelong Yankees fan Bridget Burns. “But at the end of the day, fashion is art, and you can’t rush art.”

The Yankees claim the new uniforms are a major improvement on the stale, old-school threads of the past. “Whereas our old jerseys were 35% nylon, these new ones are 45% nylon,” said Yankees fashion director Isaac Parson.

While Yankee fashion enthusiasts won’t receive the daring changes they crave, in Chicago, White Sox players strutted the walkway in nothing but tube socks during yesterday’s Chicago White Sox Fashion Show.
