Savvy Baserunner Executes Rare Hidden Bat Trick

Illustrating just how much of a student of the game he is, Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant executed a rare hidden bat trick against the Cincinnati Reds today, leading to an inside-the-park home run.

“He was rounding first base when he pulled a second bat out of his pant leg,” said Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Keston Hiura. “I tried to tag him out, but I couldn’t get close enough while he was swinging that thing around like a madman.”

Bryant became the first player to successfully execute the hidden bat trick since 1923 when Babe Ruth pulled off a double bat trick to win the World Series, rotating his arms like some kind of freakish windmill man as he stormed first base while unleashing a guttural roar.

UPDATE: The MLB has vacated Bryant’s home run and suspended him after it was discovered that the bat he used was corked.
