Cam Skattebo Going To Do This Drive Helmetless

After his chatastrophic ankle injury last year, Giants fans have been eager to see how sophomore running back Cam Skattebo would look this season. However, when the Giants offense took the field, fans were surprised to see that he was not wearing a helmet.

“It’s all part of my master plan,” Skattebo explained. “The defense is gonna be looking for a guy in a helmet. While they’re doing that, I slip into the endzone undetected. It’s genius! Defense: 0. Skattebo: 1 billion.”

“I tried a hundred different ways to explain to Cam that he needed a helmet,” Giants coach John Harbaugh said while nursing a migraine. “No matter what I said, Cam would just say “riiiiiiight” and wink at me. I thought I had finally talked him out of it, and then first drive of the game, I see Cam on the field, no helmet in sight.”

Skattebo reportedly got the idea after seeing teammate Darnell Mooney wearing a guardian cap in practice. “Skatt said that if I got to wear two helmets, it was only fair that he got to wear none,” Mooney recounted. “By the time I realized what he meant, he had already thrown his helmet into the Hudson.”

While the NY Giants sophomore running back’s insistence on not wearing a helmet might seem unwise, Skattebo’s teammates don’t see it that way. “The last time Skatt had an idea, he tried to “kickflip the team plane”,” Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter told us. “When you put it in perspective, this is actually the least dangerous plan he’s ever had.”

With his head coach and teammates now on powerless to stop him, a helmetless Skattebo took the field for the Giants first drive against the Rams. He would finish the game with 68 yards, 1 touchdown and 9 skull fractures.
