Mike McDaniel Recommends Justin Herbert Bang His Head on the Ground Really Hard Maybe to Understand His Offense
The highly touted combination of offensive wizard Mike McDaniel and Pro bowl quarterback Justin Herbert has not yet clicked the way Los Angeles Chargers fans expected. With options running out, McDaniel pitched a new direction: have Herbert slam his head on the ground really, really hard.
“I call it ‘The Tua’,” McDaniel explained. “Tua didn’t understand my offense at all at first. Then, one day, his head hit the turf, and this is the key, at or above the speed of a car accident. I asked him what year it was and he said ‘Spider 2 Y Banana RB Motion left.’ That IS what year it is! That’s every year in a Mike McDaniel offense!”
The Chargers have already begun implementing ‘The Tua’ into Herbert’s practice drills. “Coach McDaniel said if I want to be a good quarterback, I have to stand on the giant red X he painted on the 50 yard line,” The quarterback told us. “When I woke up in the locker room, he told me to keep running it until I can’t see anymore.”
‘The Tua’ doesn’t just involve the quarterback; it takes the entire team buying in. “Coach McDaniel told me I need to get arrested before Sunday’s game,” wide receiver Ladd McConkey said. “Apparently, my name is Tyreek now. That’s….part of the scheme. I’ve been running ‘threaten your girlfriend’ drills all practice.”
However, implementing ‘The Tua’ is merely phase 1 of Mike McDaniel’s master plan for the Chargers offense. According to McDaniel, the true sign that his offense is working is that he gets fired and Justin Herbert gets cut before signing with the Falcons on a veteran minimum deal.
