NHL Players Kneel To Support All Their Black Teammate

Tired of standing by while all their black teammate courageously protested racial injustice by themself, Vegas Golden Knights players spanning all shades of white knelt together during last night’s pregame national anthem, sending a strong sign of support to all black player across the league.

“It’s time for us to put our knee pads where our mouths are,” said Golden Knights alternate captain Mark Stone. “If you don’t support #blacklifematters, we don’t want you anywhere near all our black teammate.”

The gesture, immediately celebrated by NHL fans everywhere, was also intended as a message for league commissioner Gary Bettman, who many players have accused of being virtually silent on issues regarding race.

“Our protest won’t end until the commissioner meets with all our black teammate and personally assures each and every one of him that he is abolishing the mandatory two-minute minimum forever,” continued an impassioned Stone. “Also, he has to attend five NHLBlackPA meetings and have productive meetings with the President, the VP, and the Secretary – all of whom are all our black teammate.”

When asked to comment on his teammates’ act of solidarity, forward Ryan Reaves said he has never felt more like an equal part of the squad – although he does wish everyone would stop calling him Wayne Simmonds.
