Top Five Defenses To Pick Way Too Early In Your Fantasy Football League

We’ve all heard the old adage: offensive players win fantasy matchups, but defenses win fantasy championships. Naturally, if you wait too long, you risk missing out on the defense that can take you to the promised land. So, if you want to win this year, then be sure to take one of these five defenses with your first-round pick:

  1. Chicago Bears – This star-studded defense is made all the more intimidating by the treacherous Soldier Field grass on which they play. Offenses will be too focused on keeping their tendons together to even think about trying to score.
  2. Baltimore Ravens – One of the top defenses from last season, the Ravens are also the team that Ray Lewis spent his entire 17-year career with, which increases the possibility that he could attend some of their games. That should make both opposing quarterbacks and fans think twice before showing up to the stadium.
  3. Washington Football Team – With a vaunted defensive line that helped them finish second in sacks last year, this unit is bolstered by the fact that they play in the same city as the Pentagon. It would be naïve to think the U.S. military is above calling in airstrikes to win football games.
  4. Pittsburgh Steelers —The Steelers defense plays angry, and that’s no accident. Their unrelenting fury is the direct result of being forced to watch their receiving core record TikTok dances all season long. So long as JuJu keeps boogying, there will be Hell to pay for opposing offenses.
  5. Los Angeles Rams —You know how when the Mountain from Game of Thrones was brought back to life, he somehow got even stronger? If the zombified version of the Mountain did steroids for 50 years, then he still wouldn’t be as scary as Aaron Donald.
