Yikes, Is This Even Legal? Teen Goes into Cardiac Arrest While Running the Mile

When parents send their children to school, they expect teachers and staff to act in the best interest of their little ones, so when news broke about a teen suddenly going into cardiac arrest just one-eighth of the way into running the mile, it made sense to ask if this thing is even legal? ⠀

Schools around the country endanger children every day. Science says running, jogging, and walking often lead to cardiac arrest, yet schools seem to care more about “physical education” than the safety of their students.⠀

Teachers might be surprised to hear this, but schoolhouses are for learning about bugs, maps, and numbers, not for having children perform CPR on a classmate gasping for air because a careless adult wanted their students to run in a big circle for fifteen minutes—certain death for many children.⠀

Listen, a kid going into cardiac arrest on the gym floor isn’t learning about caterpillars, and no high schooler can take the ACT while on life support. With our tax dollars funding a state-sponsored torture and manslaughter apparatus every single day, remind us again: how is this even legal?⠀
