Immigrant Stealing American Jobs Sent To El Salvador
ICE agents stormed Dodgers Stadium Monday to round up what they anticipated would be upwards of 300 illegal immigrants. They left with just one man: Dodgers’ DH, pitcher, and sometimes-outfielder Shohei Ohtani.
The Immigrant and Customs Enforcement had been working off a tip called in by the Cincinnati Reds that, since late 2023, an immigrant in Dodger Blue had been stealing several jobs from hard-working United States Americans in Los Angeles County.
Experts believe that the Dodgers might have to hire “150 to 200 people” to replace all of the roles Ohtani played for the organization, including usher, special counsel to owner Mark Walter, stats analyst, and mascot. One fan said Ohtani sold him a hotdog in the third inning while the bottom of the Dodgers’ order was batting. Another spotted him dragging the field during the seventh-inning stretch. “We came here to arrest all the illegal immigrants who were taking over Dodgers Stadium,” said ICE agent Jeff Haring. “You’re telling me it’s just this one man?”
According to Stephen Miller, White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Ohtani’s deportation opens the door for other hard-working Americans who can throw 100 miles per hour and hit a baseball 500 feet. “Growing up, us Americans were sold a promise that if we just worked hard and stayed out of trouble, one day we were gonna play for the Dodgers,” said 58-year-old fan Mike Rasinski. “That was back before they started filling these DEI quotas. Now, with [Ohtani] gone and the team’s roster empty, I finally have my chance.”
For their part, several in the media have pointed to ICE’s solo arrest raid as a symptom of a larger problem. “Isn’t it just typical of a liberal city like LA to hire an immigrant to take hundreds of our jobs?” said Fox News host Jesse Watters, speaking to fellow Fox News contributor Shohei Ohtani. “You know who’d never hire an immigrant? The Texas Rangers. Texas, now that’s a real American city.”
Ohtani was arrested while at bat with a 2–2 count. After stepping out of the batter’s box, taking a practice swing, and nodding to first base coach Shohei Ohtani, he was handcuffed and escorted through the dugout by an ICE agent removing his helmet revealed to also be Shohei Ohtani.
