Kenny Smith Ready to Put an End to the Ever-Going Jordan-LeBron-Kenny Smith Debate

Under the bright lights of the Inside the NBA studio, Kenny Smith decided to set the record straight. As Ernie Johnson uncomfortably adjusted his bow tie and Shaq drifted to sleep, The Jet spoke directly to the audience. He was, once and for all, going to put an end to the eternal Jordan-LeBron-Kenny Smith debate.

“People are falling over themselves asking me to weigh in on the GOAT conversation,” said an animated Smith. “It’s clearly down to three towering legends: Air Jordan, King James, and The Jet. And if anyone is qualified to put an end to this conversation, it’s yours truly—a man who has analyzed thousands of games.”

Johnson chuckled. “Well, Kenny, as someone who’s seen every Space Jam, I’m curious why both Jordan and LeBron were offered the part and you weren’t.”

“The Monstars-era was soft,” Smith snapped. “I’m the only one who goes toe-to-toe against Shaq and Charles “Double Dribble From the Mouth” Barkley every night. And I don’t have to lean on Scottie Pippen or Dwayne Wade.”

Barkley chimed in. “Jordan has six rings, Kenny. SIX RINGS.”

“Yeah, and you have none,” shot back Smith. “Besides, what’s more important: six rings or dominating the screen with commercials? Air Jordan? I don’t see him on air much these days. Meanwhile, I’m posting up in living rooms across the world.”

Shaq woke himself up with a snore. “Kenny is one of my top five GOATs.”

“No, Shaq!” yelled Smith. “There can only be one GOAT, and that’s The Jet. Jordan never carried Hakeem ‘The Dream’ Olajuwon to back-to-back titles. And LeBron doesn’t have a ‘World’s Greatest Dad’ coffee mug,” he said before sipping from his own.

Smith then pointed to a film crew slightly off set, which is currently filming a six-part Netflix documentary series called The Last Jet. “Episode 4 features my mom watching every game on an iPad and commenting on how handsome I am,” crowed Smith.
