Outraged NFL Head Coach Demands Some Other Team Sign Colin Kaepernick
The hype surrounding rookie quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson has some critics complaining that there’s already a perfectly serviceable free agent in Colin Kaepernick waiting to be signed. One irate coach, in an anonymous, but verified, letter to the NFL demanded that some team, any team but his own, sign the man.
Angry coaches around the league are speaking up and pressuring the league to act. Chicago Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy told reporters, “It’s a shame, really. We support everything Kap stands for. If we didn’t already have two great quarterbacks, he’d be practicing at Soldier Field right now. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.”
The Seahawks echoed Nagy’s sentiment. “It’s an outrage,” Pete Carroll tweeted. “Some team whose backup QB is worse than [Russell Wilson’s backup] Alex McGough should absolutely sign him. It’s an embarrassment that it even needs to be said.”
The 33-year-old Kaepernick has reportedly kept in shape since his departure from the 49ers and is eager to work with any franchise that will have him. “I’ve still got a lot of gas in the tank. I think I could fit in nicely with any team that supports ending police brutality in America,” Kaepernick stated. Unfortunately for him, it appears that no such teams are currently in need of a veteran quarterback with Super Bowl experience.
The NFL has heard the coaches’ frustration and is reportedly in the process of sending Colin Kaepernick a greeting card that says he’ll “always be part of the NFL family.”
