Pete Rose Wins The Over On How Long He’d Be Kept Out Of The Hall Of Fame
Former baseball player and current gambler, Pete Rose, added another big win to his legacy by successfully betting the over on how many years would go by without him being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. While many saw the Hall of Fame freeze out as an insult to his long, record-breaking career, Pete Rose only saw another opportunity to bet some money. “I have the most consecutive hits in Reno history. They can’t shut me down,” said Rose, as he locked-in a $4,000 bet on The Little League World Series.
“Was I offended that the MLB kept me out of the Hall of Fame, even though I have the most hits of any player of all time? Sure. But I don’t live in the past. You can’t bet on things that are in the past,” said Rose during a phone interview with Sports Riot. Although Pete Rose may never join the greats in Cooperstown, fans and historians alike agree that Rose will go down as one of the greatest gamblers of all time.
“I know a winning bet when I see one,” said Rose when asked about his Hall of Fame odds, adding that “you can’t leave money out on the field.” Rose has also reportedly put $2,000,000 on the under of whether anyone, anyone at all, will answer his cry for help.
